Mercer Controls was founded by S.A. Mercer, a Professional Engineer with decades of experience in electrical systems, controls, and municipal utilities. From the beginning, the company was built on technical excellence, practical problem-solving, and a commitment to doing what’s right for the customer.
That legacy continues today. Even when a situation does not lead to a sale, Mercer Controls is known for helping customers find the right answer. In 2025, Mercer Controls entered a new chapter with new ownership and leadership. While Mr. Mercer remains actively involved, providing invaluable knowledge and support, the company has embraced a renewed energy and focus on growth, technology, and long-term customer value.
Under the leadership of CEO Tom Richardson, Mercer Controls is investing in new talent, modern systems, and advanced technologies to better serve our customers. Tom brings more than 20 years of experience in manufacturing, industrial operations, and business leadership, and works closely with Mr. Mercer and the broader team to build on the strong foundation already in place.
Since the transition, Mercer Controls has experienced rapid growth — not by changing who we are, but by doubling down on what has always mattered: service, reliability, and trust.
